This workshop will focus on a broad definition of creativity as it applies to any life pursuit. Specific strategies will be presented to give participants tools to find their own creative spirit no matter what the occupation or task at hand. Group exercises will energize and open avenues to new thinking about your own creativity and how to nurture creativity in those around you.
“PLANTING INTENTIONS, REAPING CREATIVE REWARDS”

The power of positive thinking combined with specific habits can have amazing results. This workshop will help you to observe and hone your own thoughts and habits to pave the way to realizing your dreams. By discovering how we can be our own worst enemy, we can also find ways to be our own best advocate. Individual and group exercises using affirmation brainstorming and stream of consciousness collage will provide participants with skills and ideas on which to build. Supplies for the collage project will be provided but feel free to bring your own found image file, pictures that represent what you like and what you wish for in life.
“CREATING WHILE LIFE IS HAPPENING”

The myths and fantasies about the ideal creative moment or the ideal creative place often stand in the way of our creative thinking and our creative work. Although having peace and quiet with uninterrupted blocks of time and a well appointed office or studio doesn’t hurt, most of us have demands put upon us that provide interruptions and less than ideal environments. How can we create while life is happening all around us? Purposely scheduled during this busy time of year, this workshop will focus on specific techniques that participants will find practical and easy to implement and that will open doors for the creative spirit.
Workshops are $45 each. Attend any two and the second is $40. Attend all three and the third is $35.
Jeff Stevenson is a mixed media collage artist with a strong foundation in representational painting. Born in 1962 and creating art ever since he can remember, Stevenson began his career as an artist and educator in earnest in 1988 when he enrolled in Ohio University’s Masters of Fine Art, Painting program. Jeff Stevenson exhibits his artwork in group and solo shows and has received numerous awards for his work.
In 2006, through his own investigative journey into the subject of creativity, Stevenson developed a college level course, “Enhancing Creativity” that provides opportunities for students to explore their own creativity and to examine the process of creativity as an academic subject. Stevenson has taught studio art classes, art history, and other subjects through Governors State University, Prairie State College, South Suburban College, Columbia College, The Illinois Institute of Art, Chicago, and Ohio University.
